Depending on what you are interested in we can plan a day trip or tour, walking tours are the best, I love going to the Markets, Mezcalerías, Sites, Museums and towns outside the city. I am not a certified tour guide, we have plenty in the City that can talk to you about the History of our culture, I'm more of a local with the passion for the diversity in our city. I know the best spots to shop for crafts, where to eat, where to go, where to stay and what to do . So just tell me what you like and I will make suggestions for you.
I lived in the US for 10 years, in Los Angeles. I came back to Oaxaca 5 years ago and fell in love with it, I enjoy everything that Oaxaca has to offer. This is how I work:
People contact me or find out about me trough friends or visitors that I have met while they were traveling in Oaxaca, they get in contact with me and tell me about the dates and the places that they would like to go as well as the activities that they are interested in, If I have more people and depending on the kind of tour I get all of them together , we meet at a convenient point in the city and we go on with our day. It is important to me that you tell me the dates that you will be in Oaxaca and what you are looking for so I can organize the groups if needed.
I have work with different kind of people, regular visitors that are here for vacation, people that are here to shoot photos or record video for Tv Shows, documentaries, food, etc.
People that have folk art stores in other countries and are here to buy pieces , and even people from other countries that are opening mexican food restaurants and are here to know about the culture, etc.
I usually don't charge for the tours, I work for tips , only if you are here for a special occasion and need specific help then we can talk about money. I have a side job at a local Restaurant, La Olla in Downtown so I'm not available all the time, but I can tell you that I'm always up to go around the city and I can manage my time pretty well hehe .
If you have any questions feel free to ask. I don't have a car but transportation to move around the city isn't a problem.
