Don Pancho had a vision to create a fast casual Mexican restaurant that would provide true Mexican flavor. This is how the Palenque chain was born. Originally from Sinaloa, Mexico and now a U.S. citizen, Don Pancho originally founded El Pollo Loco© which was a success that led him to open his first Taco Palenque® back in 1987 in Laredo, Texas. Taco Palenque® is mainly known for its authentic Mexican tacos.

It has become the ultimate place to spend time with family and friends while enjoying a meal. In fact, positive word of mouth has had a major impact on our satisfied customers. There are several Taco Palenque® locations operating throughout the south region of Texas and are continuing to grow. Don Pancho didn’t stop there; he is a visionary leader who saw the idea of incorporating Palenque Grill, an extension to their chain of restaurants with a twist of fine dining. There you have it. Don Pancho’s success is due to his belief that family comes first. He is a friendly and generous man who continues to operate and incorporate innovative ideas along his family.
