Sistema.bio is a Mexican social enterprise founded in 2010 with offices in Mexico, Colombia, Nicaragua and Kenya.
Sistema.bio is a biodigester that receives manure from the backyard animals in a sealed container and treats the waste with help of anaerobic bacteria. The result is a potent and safe organic fertilizer and a daily production of biogas rich in methane that can be used to cook, heat water and generate electricity. Sistema.bio has been specifically designed for small producers, adapting to the harsh conditions of the farm. The system can be installed in less than a day and has a shelf life of between 15 and 20 years.
